So i was kinda bored and decided to play around.
So i made an earth-moon wallpaper. i havent done one of these in a while.
Highlights: i went for a simple composition, but concentrated a lot of detail on the Earth, with clouds and city lights
In fact, i can even see where i live
The moon has a glow, thats not the atmosphere, its the specularity.
At first i tried to have the sun emit a red glow, but after hours of frustration, I realized that for earth, the only way to go is BLUE.
Downs: im not too satisfied with the crispness of the clouds, and its a shame that i had to compress it for everyone to see, otherwise it wouldve been better.
The moon is not that close to earth. In fact, its 1/4 the size of earth, and in this pic it looks like 1/10th. And its ot that close to earth either, its separated by 250.000 miles. But when you do an Earth wallpaper, the moon just HAS to be there. and i think this is the best way possible to fit it there.
I used what i always use: 3d studio Max, Photoshop, Earth textures from NASA (so this will not be available for prints) and lots of experimentation.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
