Artist's Comments

This is the first release of the long series that "Prospect" will become.

I decided to make a serie like this for a few reasons. I want to photograph architecture in a relatively abstract way. I want to make myself and the viewers really wonder what it is that they are looking at (of course, i would have an edge on this, but i find it easy to get lost in things again and experience bliss). I want to make it a serie so that i can see my progress capturing these things. For the most part, they will be about architecture, but you never know.

So, this picture, along with the second one, was taken at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. This was taken in the Astronomy wing, and i cannot explain what it is.......because doing so would ruin any possible mystery that this might have.

Thank you for viewing, and for leaving a thought :)

Very cool, fantastic shot.

very interesting shot. it almost looks like you've taken the photo upside-down. the black and white definitely suits this photo. nice work.

these are very cool, I love the angle light.. mystery... Tell me, why are they feeling upside down even though they maybe are not?

this is better than prospectII, but thats just me. great angles, for some reason it reminds me of M.C eschers work, with all those stairs. great shot.

The section on the right reminds me of a space station or some kind of futuristic architecture...the greyscale mode adds something to the image.

Cool shapes... nice job :) Abstract, but it has a good photographic balance to it :)

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

dude i think this is how supahfly would see the building if he was wasted. upside-down! i'd crop just slightly from the top to remove the pillars. it would increase the abstraction i think.

An interesting twist to your idea might be to false-color the images, to add to the abstract feel, though its already very apparent.
