Yes, a rather obscure one. No matter! Car guys are pretty much the only ones who will understand this one right away. For the rest, here's the explanation:
There's a very famous race track in Germany called the Nürburgring. It's a famous track in video games such as Forza and Gran Turismo as well. Car manufacturers test their high-performance cars there and their lap times are seen as a benchmark by which many cars are judged. It's quite legendary and pretty much the mecca for any car guy.
As such, there are many people all over the world who have never been there, let alone driven there. Yet they have a sticker of the Nürburgring on their car (bumper, quarter panel, window, etc). I never understood why. Chances are that the car will never see the Nürburgring in its life. This is like a fighter pilot having stickers of planes he didn't shoot down!
In terms of design, I had mentioned earlier that I'd take a departure from the style that I've been using up to now. This one isn't as striking and I kept coming back to this simplicity whenever I tried to spruce it up.
I giggled. The car ends up being a place where I find I run into the most frustration; be it the stickers of places your car has never been, the "my brand is better than your brand" stickers, sticker families, a ribbon for something you can't officially support... (I <3 Pappilions) You can't just roll the window down and explain to them that they aren't making sense. This made me smile.
Maybe because they like formula 1 and love the races there? I guess the Nürburgring is just better at marketing itself than other racing-tracks, but you're right, it makes little sense to non-sticker-owners.
Yep, I completely agree. There are plenty of local tracks in my area that are easy to actually get on and have stickers available if these posers want to actually do something.

This made me smile.
Still, point taken
