Hello

Sun Jan 4, 2009, 12:09 PM
Hello, everyone:

I woke up this morning and saw a stuffed message center. After a while, the Planet Tutorial got a Daily Deviation. I think that out of everything in my gallery, it's probably the one that should've gotten it the most. I made that so that people could learn something and even though it made its rounds around the internet, it's good that it's getting the spotlight yet again so that even more people can learn something. It should go without saying, but dont hesitate to ask me any question that you have regarding to it.

Also, for more learning and to accessorize your planet, I also made a rings tutorial (even though, technically, planets made of rock do not have rings).

I know I don't interact much anymore here in dA, but I lurk a heck of a lot. Answer notes, reply to some messages, etc, etc.

In other news...

2009 is here (well, it's been for a few days) and it sucks. It just sounds so puny. I long for 2010 because it's when we can start saying years with the word "twenty." It sounds extremely cool. You tell me what sounds better "two thousand (and) nine" or "twenty ten." Hell, even "two thousand ten" sounds cooler than wimpy "nine." Screw the new year resolutions, too. I do those on my birthday.

See ya around =P

Its weird that t got a DD 6 years afterwards.

Deservers it though 100%. :D Well done

Two thousand ten is better than twenty ten. What the hell is "twenty ten", it sounds like some lame person is trying to look cool. Congratulations on your DD, "btw".

Screw your courage to the sticking-place.

"Twenty" is the natural successor. Think about it. 1999? Nineteen ninety-nine. Granted, it doesnt sound as cool as "two thousand ten," but there's some natural logic behind the "twenty."

After a couple decades we won't be saying "the year twenty thirty-five", it will simply be "the year thirty-five". The natural successor will magically disappear.

Perhaps but it's not granted. We still refer to many events and years of the 20th century in their full year and not just the decade. Like WW2, for example. I think decades (nineties, eighties, sixties, seventies) are used more as a frame of reference for cultural and social characteristics.

I'm fairly sure rocky planets can have rings. Rings are simply a collection of particles without enough mass to begin the production of a moon. :P

I can't believe you're ready to throw a year away just because the next one sounds cool. It's a year of your life, man!

also, congrats :)
